Egypt's Badr Abdelatty Discusses Renewable Energy Cooperation with Norway's Scatec
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty met with Scatec CEO Terje Pilskog to discuss enhancing economic cooperation in renewable energy, highlighting Egypt's ambition to be a green hydrogen hub. The talks included support for Scatec's Obelisk solar project, which provides 500 MW of solar capacity, and the potential for expanding investments and trilateral cooperation in Africa for renewable initiatives.

Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty met with Terje Pilskog, CEO of Scatec, on January 13 to enhance economic cooperation in renewable energy. Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to a green economy and its goal to become a hub for green hydrogen production.
He supported Scatec's projects, including the Obelisk solar power project in Nagaa Hammadi, inaugurated on January 12, providing 500 MW of solar capacity and 200 MWh of battery storage. The discussions included expanding Scatec's investments and exploring trilateral cooperation in Africa for renewable energy projects.
