ELCEN Invites Bids for CTE Progresu Cogeneration Facility
The CTE Progresu cogeneration plant aims to enhance Bucharest's energy efficiency and security with an estimated investment of RON 825 million. This project is part of a national effort to modernize energy infrastructure and improve operational capabilities.

ELCEN has issued a tender for the CTE Progresu cogeneration plant, featuring an installed capacity of 74.2 MWe and 72.8 MWt. The facility will utilize advanced thermal engine technology to achieve over 85% efficiency, operating primarily on natural gas with future hydrogen blending capabilities.
This project is designed to enhance the reliability of heat and hot water supply in Bucharest and support the National Energy System's stability. Estimated at RON 825 million, funding will come from grants and various sources, joining other investments in Bucharest South and Grozăvești. The modernization is critical for meeting rising energy demands and reducing operational costs.
