Elcogen, a European manufacturer of solid oxide fuel cell technology, has expanded into India and the Asia-Pacific region. Anil Srikar Pavuluri has been appointed as Business Development Director to spearhead growth in green hydrogen.
India's renewable energy share is projected to rise from 2% to nearly 20% by 2050, driven by industrialization and urbanization. Total final energy demand in APAC is expected to increase from 450 exajoules in 2024 to over 500 exajoules by 2035.
Elcogen's technology, with a manufacturing capacity of 360 MW, offers efficient hydrogen production at 33-40 kWh per kilogram and achieves over 90% efficiency when utilizing waste heat. The expansion aims to support India's energy transition and the demand for cleaner energy solutions, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors and growing data centers.
