Eldred Approves $14.8 Million for New Wastewater Treatment Plant Using Penetron Admixture
The Borough of Eldred approved $14.8 million in 2023 for a new wastewater treatment facility capable of processing 350,000 gallons per day, addressing the obsolescence of the previous plant. The project, involving Lobar as the general contractor, includes various treatment components and received an additional $4.67 million grant for sewer pipe replacement. Engineers specified PENETRON ADMIX SB for its waterproofing properties, enhancing the concrete's durability and self-healing capabilities, thus minimizing future repair needs.

In 2023, the Borough of Eldred allocated $14.8 million for a new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 350,000 gallons per day, replacing the outdated facility from 1967. The construction, managed by Lobar, includes essential components such as a pump station and ultraviolet disinfection.
The project also received a $4.67 million grant for the replacement of 9,650 feet of sewer pipes. Project engineers chose PENETRON ADMIX SB for its waterproofing benefits, which enhance the concrete's durability and allow for self-healing of microcracks, significantly reducing future maintenance costs.
