In 2023, the Borough of Eldred allocated $14.8 million for a new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 350,000 gallons per day, replacing the outdated facility from 1967. The construction, managed by Lobar, includes essential components such as a pump station and ultraviolet disinfection.

The project also received a $4.67 million grant for the replacement of 9,650 feet of sewer pipes.
