Electrica has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Liberty Galați to develop renewable energy projects with a capacity of up to 500 MW. The agreement includes the provision of electricity to maintain operational continuity and the construction of green energy production facilities within the steel plant.

The projects will be located on land owned by Liberty Galați. Final details will be confirmed after feasibility studies are completed. This partnership aims to initiate energy production, contrasting with past initiatives like 'Hydrogen Valley', which lacked investment.
