Element One Advances Magnesium Supply for U.S. Hydrogen Initiatives
Element One Hydrogen & Critical Minerals Corp. has signed an MOU with Twin Sisters Olivine Ltd to secure a long-term supply of olivine, featuring magnesium content critical for hydrogen production. This partnership aims to supply 50,000 tonnes annually, expandable to 100,000 tonnes, supporting U.S. domestic needs as magnesium imports are currently priced at US$3.00 to US$3.25.

Element One Hydrogen & Critical Minerals Corp. has partnered with Twin Sisters Olivine Ltd to establish a consistent supply of olivine for magnesium extraction, crucial for supporting hydrogen and critical minerals development in the United States. The company's recent site visit to the Twin Sisters olivine quarry in Washington led to the collection of samples for metallurgical evaluation.
Element One anticipates producing 50,000 tonnes of olivine feedstock annually, expanding to 100,000 tonnes as demand grows. The U.S. Geological Survey estimates substantial geological hydrogen reserves, suggesting significant potential for hydrogen as a low-cost energy alternative. Element One is also exploring technologies for subsurface hydrogen production and field testing new methods, indicating an aggressive approach to becoming a key player in the hydrogen market.
