Element3 Begins Lithium Carbonate Production in Midland, Texas, First U.S. Project in 50 Years
Element3 has launched lithium carbonate production from Permian Basin produced water at a facility in Midland, Texas, marking the first new lithium mining project in the U.S. in over 50 years. The facility's capacity is 3,000 tons per annum, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Texas officials, including Governor Greg Abbott. Element3's technology is U.S. developed and aims to meet the growing lithium demand projected to increase by 100 times by 2030.

Element3 has commenced production of lithium carbonate at its facility in Midland, Texas, utilizing produced water from the Permian Basin. This facility, with a capacity of 3,000 tons per annum, represents the first new domestic lithium mining project in the U.S. in over 50 years.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Texas Governor Greg Abbott and other officials. The company's proprietary technology, developed from research licensed from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is entirely U.S.-based. Element3 plans to expand its operations in the Permian Basin to meet the projected surge in U.S. lithium demand by 2030.
