Eli Lilly Acquires Merida Biosciences; SLB to Buy Kelvion for $4.1 Billion
Eli Lilly plans to acquire Merida Biosciences for up to $2.88 billion, enhancing its portfolio in autoimmune treatments. SLB has agreed to acquire Kelvion for $4.1 billion, expanding its data center capabilities amid increasing demand for cooling solutions.

Eli Lilly is set to acquire Merida Biosciences for as much as $2.88 billion, focusing on treatments for autoimmune and allergic diseases, including Graves' disease and asthma. Concurrently, SLB has reached an agreement to purchase Kelvion for $4.1 billion, targeting the growing data center market.
The transaction includes $3.4 billion in cash and about $700 million in assumed debt. SLB's acquisition is expected to enhance its earnings and free cash flow within the first year post-closure, projected for the first half of 2027. These acquisitions reflect a strategic shift in both companies to diversify their portfolios and meet emerging market demands, particularly in healthcare and technology sectors.
