Elsewedy Electric to Launch Renewable Energy Projects in Greece by 2026
Elsewedy Electric plans to invest in two renewable energy projects in Europe during 2026, focusing initially on two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Greece with a total capacity of 200 megawatt-hours (MWh), expected to commence operations in early 2026. The company is also looking to initiate additional renewable energy projects in three Eastern European countries.
This expansion reflects Elsewedy Electric's commitment to supporting Europe's energy transition, leveraging its engineering, procurement, and construction capabilities. In 2025, the company delivered over 3 gigawatts (GW) of power generation projects, including developments in Tanzania, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Elsewedy Electric also secured an EPC contract for Hungary's largest hydrogen-ready power plant, further solidifying its role in European energy infrastructure.
