Embu County to Develop Minerals Sector Following Coltan Discovery
Embu County has confirmed deposits of coltan and other strategic minerals, positioning it for economic transformation. The Ministry of Mining, led by CS Ali Hassan Joho, highlighted the presence of columbite, tantalite, and additional minerals like copper and graphite. This discovery is expected to enhance job creation, local enterprise growth, and infrastructure improvements. Governor Cecily Mbarire expressed commitment to responsible mining practices and community benefits. The process for tender advertisement to attract investors has been initiated.
