EnergeÔ Abandons Vinzel Geothermal Project, Plans New Prospection Drilling on Côte
EnergeÔ has permanently abandoned the geothermal drilling project in Vinzel due to economic reasons and insufficient water temperature. New prospecting drilling is planned on the Côte, with promising results expected from 3D geophysical surveys conducted in 2024-2025.

EnergeÔ has announced the permanent abandonment of the geothermal project in Vinzel, where the well will be sealed and the land restored. Despite an impressive flow rate, the water temperature was only 33 degrees, short of the 80 degrees expected, and no viable funding solutions were found.
Competition from a nearby data center in Gland that produces similar heat also affected the project's feasibility. However, EnergeÔ plans new prospecting drilling on the Côte, with promising preliminary results in the Nyon sector and ongoing assessments in Aubonne, Etoy, and Morges.
