Energie AG Reports Decrease in Revenue and Profit but Increases Investment in Renewable Energy

Energie AG's results for the 2024/25 fiscal year showed a 25% decline in profit to 298 million euros, and a 10% drop in revenue to 2.842 billion euros. However, investments rose by nearly one-third to 415.1 million euros, with half directed towards network expansion and the rest into hydropower, photovoltaics, wind power, green hydrogen technologies, and battery storage.

The company aims to increase renewable energy production by one-third by 2035. For the 2025/26 fiscal year, investments are expected to rise by 36.4% to 566 million euros. The revenue decline was mainly due to lower wholesale prices for electricity and gas, reduced electricity sales, and lower sales prices.

The company's credit rating remains at A, with debts reduced to 401.6 million euros. A new hydropower plant, Traunfall, is under construction and expected to supply power to 35,000 households by 2028. The company is also expanding its district heating networks and utilizing industrial waste heat.
