Energy Partners Installs Solar and Battery Systems at DSV's South African Distribution Hubs
Energy Partners has completed the installation of integrated solar PV and battery energy storage systems at three DSV distribution sites in South Africa. The project, finished in under ten months, includes 4 MW of solar PV and 7 MWh of battery storage. It features an uninterrupted power supply system ensuring seamless transitions between power sources, aimed at reducing DSV's carbon footprint and maintaining operational continuity.

Energy Partners has equipped DSV's three largest South African transport hubs—Riverhorse in Durban, Plumbago in Johannesburg, and Solar City in Cape Town—with solar PV and battery energy storage systems. Completed in under ten months, the project features 4 MW of solar PV and 7 MWh of battery storage.
The deployment includes an uninterrupted power supply system, ensuring seamless transitions between grid and battery power. The solution integrates renewable energy with existing diesel generation, optimizing energy allocation and reducing carbon emissions. The project addresses recent energy challenges in South Africa, including rising tariffs and declining battery prices, demonstrating the feasibility of large-scale BESS solutions.
