Energy Recovery Launches PX Q650 Pressure Exchanger for Desalination Plants
Energy Recovery has introduced the PX Q650 Pressure Exchanger, designed for efficiency and reliability in desalination. The new model increases flow capacity and efficiency while reducing mixing, with a 30-year design life and up to 60% savings in reverse osmosis energy use. Energy Recovery is also enhancing warranties for high-pressure PX models, effective from March 9, 2026.

Energy Recovery has launched the PX Q650 Pressure Exchanger, tailored for desalination plants, which offers higher flow capacity and efficiency with minimized mixing. The Q650 is based on a proven isobaric design featuring one moving part made of durable alumina ceramic, ensuring a 30-year lifespan and no scheduled maintenance.
It can decrease reverse osmosis energy use by up to 60% and boasts the highest uptime among energy recovery devices in large-scale desalination. Effective March 9, 2026, Energy Recovery will double warranties on ceramic components and performance for high-pressure PX models.
