ENERGY STORAGE

Energy Vault Holdings, Inc. has started construction on the SOSA Energy Center, a 150 MW battery energy storage facility in Madison County, Texas, acquired from Savion, a Shell plc subsidiary. The project, part of Energy Vault's Asset Vault initiative, is expected to begin operations in Q2 2027.

Backed by a $300 million equity commitment from Orion Infrastructure Capital, the SOSA facility is the first Asset Vault project to enter construction. Energy Vault closed 2025 with over $100 million in cash reserves, a 65% increase since the previous quarter.

The facility will use B-VAULT™ DC technology to enhance grid stabilization and renewable energy integration within the ERCOT North territory. It is projected to generate approximately $350 million in total revenue throughout its operational life.
