EnergyAustralia Secures Funding for 50 MW Hallett Battery Project in South Australia
EnergyAustralia has reached financial close on the Hallett battery project, located 210 km north of Adelaide. The initial capacity will be 50 MW and 245 MWh, with potential for expansion. Construction begins in two weeks, utilizing existing infrastructure alongside the Hallett gas generator. This project is part of EnergyAustralia's strategy to enhance its battery storage portfolio, supporting local jobs and strengthening South Australia's energy system.

EnergyAustralia has achieved financial close on its Hallett battery project, situated 210 km north of Adelaide. The battery will initially be 50 MW and 245 MWh, with approval for an additional 150 MW. Construction is set to commence in two weeks, adjacent to a 230 MW gas generator, leveraging existing infrastructure.
This project transitions from concept to investment decision in under two years. EnergyAustralia is focused on expanding its battery storage capabilities, complementing operations with its gas facilities to bolster energy flexibility. The Hallett region is prominent for wind and solar energy, aiming for 100% net renewables by 2027.
