Enery Secures €460M Financing for 1GWh Battery Storage Project in Romania
Enery has closed a €460 million financing for its 761MWp solar and 1GWh battery storage project in Romania. The project, located in Giurgi County, is expected to be one of Europe's largest hybrid renewable projects. Multiple lenders participated in the financing, which is part of Enery's Sustainable Financing Framework. Additionally, Eurowind Energy has commenced construction on a battery storage system at its Teiuș solar park, and Electrica signed a MoU with Liberty Galati for a renewable energy project. Other partnerships include PPC Group and Metlen developing a 1.5GW battery storage joint venture.

Enery has secured €460 million in financing for its 761MWp solar and 1GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Giurgi County, Romania, marking a significant step in renewable energy development. The financing was provided by several banks under Enery's Sustainable Financing Framework.
Meanwhile, Eurowind Energy is constructing a BESS at its Teiuș solar park, backed by a €21 million grant from the EU's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Electrica signed a memorandum of understanding with Liberty Galati for a renewable energy project up to 500MW. Additionally, PPC Group and Metlen are launching a 1.5GW BESS joint venture across Romania, Bulgaria, and Italy, expected to implement 1GW within a year.
