enfinium and SSE Sign 25-Year Agreement for Low Carbon Heat Supply in Leeds
enfinium has signed a 25-year deal with SSE to supply low carbon heat from its Skelton Grange facility to the Aire Valley Heat Network, supporting local industry and growth in Leeds. The agreement will provide an initial 6MWth of heat, operational from Q1 2027, and aims to develop a circular economy by diverting waste from landfill to produce energy. The initiative aligns with government funding and SSE's goals for a net zero carbon region by 2038.

enfinium has entered a 25-year agreement with SSE to supply low carbon heat from its Skelton Grange energy from waste facility to the Aire Valley Heat Network. The deal includes an initial supply of 6MWth of heat, expected to be operational from Q1 2027, with phased expansions to accommodate local business and residential demand.
This initiative aims to develop a circular economy in the area by converting unrecyclable waste into energy, supporting essential local infrastructure. The project builds on SSE's previous phase of the heat network, funded by £10.81m from the Government's Green Heat Network Fund.
