Engie Facilitates Energy Savings Certificates for Nabiax's Data Centers in Spain
Engie has issued Energy Savings Certificates (CAE) for Nabiax, a major data center operator in Spain, resulting in an annual reduction of 1.8 GWh in energy consumption through improved cooling systems at the Alcalá Data Center campus. This initiative, covering 10,000 square meters of IT space, is part of a national effort to promote energy efficiency in industrial sectors, with validation from an ENAC-accredited verifier. Engie, which aims for carbon neutrality by 2045, plays a key role in facilitating CAE management for companies to enhance the return on investment in energy efficiency projects.

Engie has issued Energy Savings Certificates (CAE) for Nabiax, a leading data center operator in Spain, reducing energy consumption by 1.8 GWh annually through efficient cooling systems at the Alcalá Data Center campus. The initiative encompasses 10,000 square meters of IT space and aims to enhance energy efficiency while maintaining operational stability.
The project, validated by an ENAC-accredited verifier, is part of a national CAE system promoting energy savings in industrial sectors. Engie acts as a delegated entity, enabling companies to manage CAE, thereby enhancing the return on investment for energy efficiency projects.
Nabiax operates six centers in Spain with a total installed IT capacity of 35 MW and aims for growth up to 120 MW. Engie employs 98,000 people globally and targets carbon neutrality by 2045, investing over 10 billion euros annually in energy transition efforts.
