Enva Invests £7.5M in SDA Processing and Recycling Facility in Stourbridge
Enva's £7.5 million investment in a new SDA processing and fridge compressor recycling facility aims to enhance the UK's WEEE treatment capacity. The facility, set to open in January 2027, will enable the recovery of critical raw materials, including high-purity copper.

Enva is investing £7.5 million in a facility at its Stourbridge site for Small Domestic Appliance (SDA) processing and fridge compressor recycling, expected to commence operations in January 2027. The facility will have a processing capacity of 25,000 tonnes per annum, with potential expansion to 35,000 tonnes, increasing total SDA recycling capacity in the UK and Ireland to over 80,000 tonnes annually.
It will implement Best Available Technique (BAT) processes, featuring automated systems for battery removal and advanced separation of non-ferrous metals and printed circuit boards. This facility will uniquely offer compliant, end-to-end processing of fridge compressors, achieving 99% pure copper output. Materials recovered will support a circular economy and decrease reliance on finite resources.
