Equinix Launches RM760 Million Data Center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia
Equinix, Inc. is investing RM760 million in a new data center, KL2, in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. This expansion underscores Malaysia's growing role as a hub for digital and AI innovation in the ASEAN region.
Equinix is set to establish its fourth data center in Malaysia, KL2, located in Cyberjaya. This facility will be positioned under one kilometer from the existing KL1 center and is part of a broader investment exceeding US$190 million across Malaysia, including sites in Johor.
KL2 is expected to deliver over 2,200 cabinets and will enhance the digital infrastructure needed for scalable, low-latency operations, supporting enterprises and hyperscalers in their growth and deployment of AI and multi-cloud solutions. This development aligns with Malaysia's strategic initiatives to boost its digital economy, including the National Artificial Intelligence Office. The expansion is anticipated to stimulate job creation and strengthen regional connectivity.
