Equinix has signed a renewable energy self-production agreement with Auren Energia in Brazil, involving two wind projects set to commence in 2026. This initiative will fulfill a substantial portion of Equinix's energy requirements in the country and is part of the company's broader strategy to diversify its energy portfolio.

Equinix aims for 100% renewable energy by 2030, having already achieved 100% renewable energy coverage in Brazil. The partnership demonstrates Auren's ability to meet the energy demand of data centers. Under this long-term agreement, the wind projects will be operated exclusively by women.
