Equinix Partners with Auren to Develop Wind Energy Projects in Brazil
Equinix has entered a renewable energy self-production agreement with Auren Energia in Brazil, involving two wind projects. The initiative, starting in 2026, aims to cover a significant portion of Equinix's energy needs while supporting the country's decarbonization efforts. Equinix aims for 100% renewable energy by 2030, having reached 96% in 2024. The partnership also highlights Auren's capability to meet data center energy demands, with projects to be operated exclusively by women.
