ERGIL Group has supplied gas-to-gas sulfur condenser heat exchangers for TÜPRAŞ's 11.9-million-tonnes/year İzmir refinery. The project includes four shell-and-tube sulfur condensers for the sulfur recovery unit, which meet TÜPRAŞ's technical standards and comply with various certifications including ASME U-stamp and CE marking.

The condensers are designed for operating temperatures of 210-370° C and a design pressure of 5.3 kg/sq cm, suitable for handling sulfur process gases containing ammonia. The fabrication process involved extensive testing and compliance with NACE standards. This upgrade aims to enhance sulfur handling capabilities and ensure environmental and safety standards at the refinery, although project cost and schedule details were not disclosed.
