Espírito Santo Develops Own Cloud and Data Center Infrastructure
The state of Espírito Santo is establishing its own cloud and data center to enhance governance and reduce costs. A second data center is planned for 2028, emphasizing energy efficiency and equal capacity to the existing facility.

Espírito Santo is investing in its own cloud and data center infrastructure to manage digital services, as stated by Prodest's CEO Marcelo Azeredo Cornélio. The state aims to establish a second data center by 2028, currently in the process of selecting a company for the project's execution.
Cornélio noted that operating a public cloud would be more expensive and less controllable, highlighting the importance of data governance and access to backups. The new data center will match the primary one in capacity and focus on energy efficiency, which may enhance the state's digital service reliability and sustainability.
