Espírito Santo to Construct Second Data Center with $76.5M Investment
The Espírito Santo government is advancing its digital transformation with a new Data Center project in Carapina, set to enhance data processing and storage. Scheduled for completion by 2030, this initiative aims to improve digital service availability for residents.

The Espírito Santo government plans to invest $76.5 million in the construction of a second Data Center in Carapina, scheduled for completion by 2030. This project, under the ES Mais Inteligente program launched in February 2025, will operate alongside the existing Data Center, utilizing an active-active model to ensure continuous service.
The new facility will be approximately 2,500 square meters and is expected to have two to three times the capacity of the current center, with power projections between 600 and 900 kilowatts. Additionally, it will focus on sustainability through renewable energy use and energy-efficient technologies. This expansion is intended to enhance the availability of digital services for citizens, allowing for tasks like scheduling appointments or handling Detran matters via mobile devices.
