ETSI's Software Development Group for OpenSlice has released OpenSlice 2026Q2, focusing on automating and monetizing network services via open technologies. This update introduces secret management integration with HashiCorp Vault and an IETF RFC 9543 Network Slice Service controller for better management of network slicing services.
Enhancements include MCP stack improvements, updated AI components, and stability upgrades, facilitating autonomous operations. Additionally, the launch of HypO 2026.06 enables the federation of OpenSlice environments into a cohesive ecosystem.
The new MDG Business Support System aims to enhance monetization and OSS/BSS convergence. These developments may impact operators' ability to efficiently deploy services in complex network environments.
