EU Approves €500M Hydrogen Subsidies for Poland's Green Energy Projects
The EU has authorized Poland to allocate over €500 million for green and low-carbon hydrogen production, facilitating a transition to sustainable energy. This funding is part of a broader €7.2 billion recovery package aimed at enhancing the country's green infrastructure.

Poland will receive EU approval for over €500 million in subsidies to support 343MW of hydrogen production. The European Commission's endorsement includes funding for more than 1,000 electric or hydrogen buses.
Companies can utilize these funds for electrolyser installations with a minimum capacity of 20MW. Notably, state-owned Orlen is set to receive PLN 1.2 billion ($331.3 million) for its Hydrogen Eagle Project, which targets 700MW of electrolyser capacity.
Other beneficiaries include Lotos Green H2, Tauron, Promet-Plast, and Bioagra, each receiving significant funding for various hydrogen projects. This funding aims to boost Poland's green energy capabilities and reduce emissions, aligning with EU sustainability goals.
