EU Space Vehicle and Transport Services Exports Reach €2.2 Billion in 2023
In 2023, EU exports of space vehicles and transport services reached €2.2 billion, with imports at €628 million, according to Eurostat. This marks a recovery from a low of €1.51 billion in 2016, following a peak of €3.71 billion in 2012, and reflects a rebound from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The European space economy is projected to grow significantly, with estimates of reaching $85 billion by 2026 and an upstream value of $408 billion by 2035.

The European space economy is projected to grow to $85 billion by 2026, with a potential upstream value of $408 billion by 2035. Current ESA budgets for 2026-2028 exceed €22 billion.
