Euclid Initiates Microgrid Project for Enhanced Energy Stability
Euclid is advancing its microgrid project aimed at improving energy reliability, with initial operations focused on major industrial clients. The project is supported by a $1.5 million DOE grant and $10 million from the EPA, with construction slated for 2027.

The microgrid initiative in Euclid aims to provide energy stability primarily to large manufacturers such as Lincoln Electric and PPG Industries. The project, developed under Cuyahoga Green Energy, will utilize renewable sources, including local solar energy.
It is currently 10-15% through its engineering phase, with completion expected by year's end and construction beginning in 2027, aiming for operational status by 2028. The microgrid will serve key city facilities, ensuring essential services remain operational during outages.
Funding includes a matched grant of $1.5 million from the Department of Energy and $10 million from the EPA. The project is seen as a model for future expansions into other areas, contingent on its successful implementation.
