Eve Air Mobility and Japan Airlines Push Urban Air Mobility Initiatives
Eve Air Mobility is committed to urban air mobility and aims for certification by 2028, while Japan Airlines leads an AAM consortium for infrastructure development.

Eve Air Mobility, focused on urban air mobility, plans to achieve civil type certification with Brazilian and American aviation authorities by 2028. The company will develop six prototype aircraft, with ongoing flight testing projected to expand operational capabilities.
In contrast, Japan Airlines is spearheading a consortium to establish a comprehensive advanced air mobility (AAM) ecosystem, partnering with UrbanV to develop infrastructure in Japan. This project aims to integrate regulatory frameworks and commercialize AAM services, starting in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area. The Japanese market aims to leverage existing infrastructure and promote eVTOL operations, particularly through partnerships with established players like Archer Aviation and UrbanV.
