Everpure Expands ActiveCluster for Metro-Distance Disaster Recovery for File Workloads
Everpure is extending its ActiveCluster to provide disaster recovery across metro distances for file-based workloads. Introduced in 2017, ActiveCluster synchronously replicates data updates between block storage FlashArrays over Fibre Channel, allowing workloads to fail over seamlessly to a linked datacenter.
As of March 2024, more than 30% of Everpure's customers use this system. The new capability enhances high availability and introduces fleet-wide file mobility, integrated with Everpure Fusion and the Purity operating environment.
This model supports operations across any array without manual intervention, aligning with cloud operating models. Competitors like Dell, HPE, and NetApp have similar features, while VAST Data does not currently provide metro-distance stretched clustering.
