EverWind Fuels is moving forward with its Wind Farm 2 project, set for a provincial environmental assessment later this spring. The project will feature up to 158 turbines across approximately 64,000 hectares and is anticipated to generate 1.26 gigawatts of electricity, which will support green hydrogen and ammonia production for export.
Recent community open houses attracted about 75 attendees, raising questions about the project's economic implications and its onshore nature. Municipal tax revenue from Wind Farm 2 is projected at $11 million annually.
Additionally, EverWind is committed to contributing over $1 million per year to community funds, guided by local residents. The feedback from these sessions will shape future project adjustments, highlighting ongoing concerns about public awareness and the region's population decline.
