Evolito Collaborates with Airbus on UK-Funded Electric Wheel Taxi System Development
Evolito Limited is partnering with Airbus, supported by the ATI and Innovate UK, to develop an electric wheel taxi system for aircraft, aiming to reduce taxi emissions by 47%. The project, named SONATA, will utilize Evolito's axial flux motor technology, expected to deliver 56Nm/kg and peak power of 350kW. This collaboration builds on previous work with project UToPEA and includes organizations like the University of Southampton and Magnomatics.

Evolito Limited is collaborating with Airbus on Project SONATA, an electric wheel taxi system funded by the UK Government. The system allows aircraft to taxi independently with engines off, targeting a 47% reduction in emissions.
Evolito will develop a low speed, high torque electric motor using its axial flux technology, achieving 56Nm/kg and 350kW peak power. This partnership includes the University of Southampton and others, enhancing the aerospace sector's sustainability and innovation efforts. The project follows the successful UToPEA initiative.
