Evonik Catalysts Launches Chlorocel™ 909, Enhancing Chloride Adsorbent Portfolio
Evonik Catalysts has introduced Chlorocel™ 909, a high-performance chloride adsorbent, expanding its product portfolio. This new adsorbent increases chloride loading by over 15% compared to industry alternatives and minimizes unwanted side reactions. Designed for removing inorganic chlorides in catalytic reformer applications, Chlorocel™ 909 offers longer cycle lengths, reduced downtime, and lower waste generation, thus improving operational efficiency for refiners.

Evonik Catalysts has launched Chlorocel™ 909, its fourth chloride adsorbent, enhancing its Chlorocel™ product line. This next-generation adsorbent utilizes a proprietary blend of mixed metal oxides (MMO) to increase chloride loading by over 15% and reduce green oil formation.
Chlorocel™ 909 is designed to remove inorganic chlorides from catalytic reformer guard beds in vapor or liquid applications. Its extrudate design provides improved particle strength and longer service life compared to alumina products, resulting in lower maintenance and disposal costs. It complements previous products, including Chlorocel™ 901, 905, and RCL, offering refiners increased flexibility to meet regulatory and operational demands.
