EVSX and Voltrinov Form Joint Venture to Enhance Battery Processing for EVs and Micromobility
EVSX Corp. has established a joint venture with Voltrinov to evaluate and process end-of-life electric vehicle and micromobility batteries. Voltrinov will assess and dismantle the batteries at its facility in Quebec, while EVSX will handle processing in Ontario, producing black mass for recovery and resale of critical minerals. The venture aims to address regional processing capacity issues and strengthen the circular economy in Quebec by creating new jobs and enhancing local battery recycling efforts.

EVSX Corp. has entered a joint venture with Voltrinov to manage end-of-life electric vehicle and micromobility batteries for recycling. Voltrinov will provide technical assessments and dismantle batteries at its St-Bruno-de-Montarville facility, while EVSX will process them in Thorold, Ontario, producing black mass for the recovery of minerals.
The black mass will be refined at Voltrinov's facility to create battery-grade minerals for the supply chain. This initiative aims to create new jobs in Quebec, expand processing capacity, and support the region's circular economy, addressing recent capacity reductions in battery recycling.
