Explora Journeys Celebrates Launch of Explora IV and Milestones for Explora V and VI at Fincantieri Shipyard
Explora Journeys marked three milestones at Fincantieri's Sestri Ponente shipyard for its new vessels. The Explora IV was launched, the Explora V's coin ceremony was held, and construction began for the Explora VI. The Explora IV and V are set to enter service in 2027, while the Explora VI will follow in 2028. MSC Group has invested approximately €3.5 billion for the six ships, with a total investment of around €7 billion including four previously delivered ships. The vessels will be LNG-powered and incorporate advanced technologies.

Explora Journeys celebrated milestones at Fincantieri’s Sestri Ponente shipyard for three new vessels: the launch of Explora IV, the coin ceremony for Explora V, and the start of construction of Explora VI. The Explora IV and V will enter service in 2027, while Explora VI is scheduled for 2028.
MSC Group invested about €3.5 billion in these six ships, totaling around €7 billion when including previous ships. All vessels will utilize liquefied natural gas and incorporate technologies like a cold ironing system and fuel cells for hydrogen conversion.
