FACT Announces ₹6,350 Crore Capex 2.0 Expansion to Enhance Fertilizer Production Capacity
Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) plans a ₹6,350 crore investment in its Capex 2.0 expansion program to enhance fertilizer manufacturing. The initiative includes new plants for phosphoric acid, sulphuric acid, urea, and ammonia storage, aiming to increase production capacity from 1 million to 1.5 million tonnes annually by 2026-27. The projects have received in-principle approval from the Board and are under review by the Fertilizers Ministry.

Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) is launching a ₹6,350 crore Capex 2.0 expansion program to boost fertilizer manufacturing. Key projects include a 700-tonne-per-day phosphoric acid plant, a 2,200-tonne-per-day sulphuric acid plant, a 1500 MTPD urea plant, and a 20,000-tonne ammonia storage tank.
The production capacity of NP fertilizer is set to rise from 860,000 tonnes to 1.4 million tonnes annually with a new 1650 MTPD NPK plant. Production is expected to start in the 2026-27 financial year, potentially increasing FACT's turnover from ₹5,500 crore to ₹15,000 crore within ten years.
