Fairmont City Council Approves $22 Million Budget for 2026-27 Fiscal Year
Fairmont City Council has approved a $22 million budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year, funding various strategic projects, employee pay raises, and property cleanups. The budget will be submitted to the state for approval ahead of the March 28 deadline. The city plans to request $2.4 million for water reservoir rehabilitation and is pursuing additional funding for wastewater treatment upgrades. Cleanup efforts are ongoing following winter, and the council will address opioid funding requests on March 24.
