Faisalabad Intensifies Monsoon Preparedness to Mitigate Urban Flooding
Authorities in Faisalabad are enhancing monsoon preparedness to prevent urban flooding, with critical deadlines set for drainage maintenance and emergency response. Key initiatives include dewatering equipment readiness and improved coordination among municipal services.

Faisalabad's officials are accelerating monsoon preparations to address potential urban flooding ahead of the rainy season. A meeting led by Barrister Sultan Bajwa emphasized the need to complete desilting of drains by June 15 and ensure dewatering sets are operational in vulnerable areas.
Furthermore, 15 emergency camps are to be established, and a mock exercise is scheduled for June 10 to evaluate response strategies. The provincial secretary also ordered the continuation of a wastewater treatment project and expedited progress on development schemes totaling Rs22 billion.
An NOC from WASA will be mandatory for future road projects, ensuring sewerage infrastructure compliance. Enhanced coordination among municipal agencies is required for effective service delivery.
