FEMA Allocates $6 Million for Sheboygan Flood Mitigation Project
FEMA has allocated $6 million to Sheboygan for a flood mitigation initiative aimed at enhancing shoreline protection. This funding is part of a broader $137 million investment across over 50 projects nationwide.

FEMA's approval of $6 million will support a flood mitigation project in Sheboygan focused on constructing a retaining wall along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This wall is designed to prevent erosion and safeguard the wastewater treatment facility serving nearly 50,000 residents.
The funding represents the final portion of a $7.8 million grant, with FEMA covering 77% of the eligible costs. The remaining 23% will be funded by the city and Wisconsin Emergency Management. This investment highlights the federal commitment to addressing infrastructure vulnerabilities in municipalities affected by flooding risks.
