The Ferrol-San Cibrao Port Authority has released a tender for environmental remediation of the As Pías gas station, with a budget of €192,708 and a 15-month execution timeline. This initiative aims to remove hydrocarbon remnants using the Pump&Traet system, which involves pumping groundwater to recover and treat contaminants.
Following remediation, effectiveness will be monitored through weekly and biweekly reviews, with quarterly sampling during maintenance. The project supports a concession application by Carbugal for 7,200 square meters to reactivate the service station and enhance the area. Peteiro Motor plans to invest approximately €2 million and create 12 new jobs, alongside additional roles from commercial activities.
