Feuchtwangen Launches Innovative Electrolyzer for Green Hydrogen Production in Germany
Feuchtwangen has launched a €5 million electrolyzer project in the West II industrial area to produce green hydrogen, marking the region's first facility of its kind. With a capacity of five megawatts, the plant aims to generate up to 650 tons of green hydrogen annually, primarily for the mobility sector, and is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026. The project is managed by H2 Hub nahKRAFT GmbH and aligns with Bavaria's hydrogen strategy.

Feuchtwangen has marked the official start of its electrolyzer project in the West II industrial area, aiming to enhance climate-friendly energy supply. The initiative, backed by a €5 million grant from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, is the first green hydrogen production facility in Middle Franconia and aligns with Bavaria's hydrogen strategy.
The plant, with a capacity of five megawatts, is projected to produce up to 650 tons of green hydrogen annually, with operations expected to commence by the end of 2026. H2 Hub nahKRAFT GmbH, a partnership between nahKRAFT GmbH and IFSEC Green H2 AG, is overseeing the project. The green hydrogen will primarily serve the mobility sector, exemplified by the presentation of a hydrogen-powered wheel loader at the groundbreaking ceremony.
