Fidra Energy Acquires 1 GW Enderby Battery Storage Project from Innova
Fidra Energy has acquired the Enderby battery storage project, boosting its UK pipeline to over 4 GW. The project is set to contribute significantly to the UK's clean energy targets under the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan.

Fidra Energy has finalized the acquisition of the Enderby battery storage project from Innova, increasing its total UK battery energy storage system (BESS) pipeline to over 4 GW. The Enderby project, approved for planning in May 2025, is expected to deliver up to 1,025 MW of capacity and commence operations by 2029.
Construction is already underway at Thorpe Marsh (1.4 GW/3.1 GWh), with a decision for the West Burton project (500 MW/1.1 GWh) due in June 2026. This acquisition aligns with the UK Government's Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, which anticipates 22 to 27 GW of battery storage by 2030, highlighting the critical role of battery storage in enhancing grid resilience and integrating renewable energy.
