Finnish and Namibian universities are collaborating on a project to develop circular economy models aimed at sustainable production and waste management. The University of Tampere and the Tampere University of Applied Sciences are working with Namibia University of Science and Technology to enhance local expertise.
The project focuses on bio-based and recycling-based materials, creating a roadmap for skills development, and conducting a feasibility study on bio-fuels for Finnish company Meriaura. Workshops organized with the support of the Finnish embassy aim to increase domestic processing rates and job creation. The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra is also involved, providing a framework for others to adapt circular economy practices.
