Firmus Technologies Secures $505 Million Investment Led by Coatue Management
Firmus Technologies has raised $505 million in a funding round, valuing the company at $5.5 billion as it prepares for an IPO. The investment will accelerate the deployment of AI hardware in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on renewable energy solutions.

Firmus Technologies Pty has raised $505 million, valuing the company at $5.5 billion ahead of an anticipated IPO. The funding, led by Coatue Management with participation from Nvidia Corp., will support the expansion of data center capacity and AI hardware deployment in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Australia and Singapore.
Firmus aims to develop its Southgate project, which includes a data center in Tasmania powered by renewable energy and equipped with 36,000 Nvidia accelerator chips. This effort aligns with Nvidia's strategy to promote sovereign AI and keep data within national boundaries. Firmus plans to raise approximately $2 billion in its IPO, which is projected for June or July 2026, and could be one of Australia's largest tech IPOs.
