First Battery Plant Shipment Arrives at Port of Johnstown

The Port of Johnstown has welcomed its first shipment for a battery energy storage facility being developed at the Skyview site near Spencerville. This project involves storing electricity purchased during low demand and discharging it during peak periods.
Local officials, including Edwardsburgh Cardinal Mayor Tory Deschamps, praised the collaboration between the port, Potentia, and the project partners for this achievement. The battery plant is anticipated to deliver significant improvements in regional grid reliability and capacity, reinforcing Edwardsburgh Cardinal's role in sustainable infrastructure development.
