Flathead National Forest Proposes New Wastewater Facility for Holland Lake Lodge
The Flathead National Forest has proposed building a new wastewater treatment facility for Holland Lake Lodge, after the existing system failed. A community meeting is scheduled for March 9 to discuss the project, which aims to modernize infrastructure and support year-round operations at the lodge. The new facility is expected to accommodate increased wastewater flow from lodge and campground activities, with construction potentially starting this summer and lasting until 2027.

Flathead National Forest proposed replacing the outdated wastewater treatment system at Holland Lake Lodge, which has been offline since 2023. New owners Eric Jacobsen and Thomas Knowles plan to resume lodge operations, necessitating a functional wastewater facility.
The proposed system will serve the lodge, campground, and RV dump station, with an estimated annual wastewater flow of 1,237,250 gallons. If approved, construction could begin this summer and be completed by summer 2027.
A community meeting will be held on March 9 to gather public feedback. The new design aims to modernize infrastructure and ensure environmental protection.
