Flemington Planning Board Approves Spark Car Wash Project
The Flemington Planning Board has approved the Spark Car Wash project, replacing a vacant restaurant site. The decision, influenced by a reduction in impervious coverage to meet zoning regulations, represents a significant development in the area.

On April 28, the Flemington Planning Board voted 8-1 to approve the Spark Car Wash project, which will replace a vacant restaurant with a 4,907-square-foot automated facility. The project received approval after the company reduced impervious coverage from 73% to 70%, aligning with borough zoning rules.
Previously raised concerns regarding water usage and stormwater management were addressed with a letter from the borough's water utility confirming capacity. Spark Car Wash operates additional locations in Woodbridge and Linden, with plans for further expansion. This development highlights ongoing efforts to manage heat island effects in Flemington.
