Florida Anticipates 125 Launches in 2026 Amid Global Spaceport Expansion
Florida is expected to lead with 109 launches in 2025 and between 96 to 125 in 2026, as Space Florida plans to enhance infrastructure to support this growth. The FAA has licensed 14 spaceports in the U.S., with 16 more under development, contributing to a global expansion that could see the space economy reach $1 trillion annually. Investments in Florida's spaceports focus on upgrading infrastructure, including wastewater systems and expanding Port Canaveral to facilitate increased launch and recovery operations.

Space Florida's vice president, Dale Ketchum, reported on plans to enhance infrastructure to support growth, aiming for up to 500 launches collectively between Florida and California's Vandenberg Space Force Base by 2030.
