Florida's Space Strategy: Sustainable Aerospace Growth Initiatives
Florida's aerospace sector, driven by Space Florida, focuses on sustainable growth through foundational investments rather than short-term incentives. This model supports long-term partnerships and infrastructure development, positioning Florida as a leader in the aerospace industry.

Space Florida, established by the state legislature 20 years ago, emphasizes long-term investments for aerospace growth instead of immediate cash incentives. The organization operates with a venture capital-inspired approach, ensuring thorough due diligence on companies, including their financials, infrastructure needs, and workforce requirements before allocating public funds.
Florida is unique in treating space as an official mode of transportation, facilitating a comprehensive network of licensed spaceports including the Cape Canaveral area, Cecil Air and Space Port, and Space Coast Regional Airport. Currently, Space Florida has approximately 220 projects in its pipeline, focusing on connecting with companies to ensure they can leverage available resources for sustainable growth.
